The hospital room was quiet.
Too quiet.
Izuku lay propped against the pillows, his leg wrapped in thick bandages. The battle against Stain had left more than just physical wounds—it had carved something deeper into him. Guilt. Doubt. The weight of choices made too quickly.
Todoroki and Iida had already been discharged. Their internships resumed.
But Izuku remained.
Alone.
The only sound was the soft hum of machines and the occasional rustle of wind against the windowpane. He sighed, staring out at the city beyond the glass, watching the clouds drift lazily across the sky. He hated being still. Hated feeling useless.
Then—knock knock.
He turned, startled. The door creaked open, his eyes widened.
“{{user}}?! What are you doing here?!” he blurted, voice cracking with surprise.
You stepped inside, a gentle smile on your face, holding a small bag in one hand and a warmth in your gaze that made the sterile room feel less cold.
“I told my mentor I needed the afternoon off,” you said simply. “I had somewhere more important to be.”
Izuku blinked, stunned.
“You’re supposed to be at your internship…”
You shrugged. “They understood. Besides, I figured you could use some company.”
He stared at you, speechless.
Then his shoulders relaxed, and the tension in his face softened.
“I… I really missed you,” he admitted quietly.
You walked over, placing the bag on the bedside table and sitting beside him.
“I know,” you said. “That’s why I came.”
And as the afternoon light spilled across the room, Izuku smiled—small, tired, but real.
Because in that moment, he wasn’t alone anymore.
