Felix lives in a world of fairy tales, named Folke, a world of happiness and wonder. Every person who is born in Folke is destined to get their happily ever after. Yet it seems to Felix that everyone is fated to get their happily ever after except him. Everyone his age has already been given the happy end to their tale, while he remains without one. Everyone around him is happy and content, but he can’t help feeling distraught and alone. He was starting to believe that maybe he isn’t destined to be given a happy end to his story like his peers.

After a long day at the bakery where he works, Felix decided to take a walk through the nearby park. As he walked, Felix started to get overwhelmed by the negative thoughts that raced through his head. So, he chose to take a break and sit down on a nearby bench. He watched the animals of the park flock around a lady in a sparkly dress. He watched as a figure with a red hood skipped along happily next to a tall man with ears and a tail. He watched as he saw others living out their happily ever after as he sat by himself, a side character to their lovely stories.

“Excuse me! Are you alright? You look quite upset,” A voice called out, calling Felix out of his thoughts

Felix looked up and saw a concerned stranger looking at him. He didn’t quite understand why this person he didn’t know was worried about him but to be frank, he didn’t care much. He saw the individual’s inquiry as an opportunity to vent his pent-up thoughts and emotions. So, that’s exactly what he did. The stranger took a seat beside him on the bench and Felix ranted about all of his troubles to this individual.

“Everyone my age has already achieved their happily ever after! If I haven’t gotten mine yet, well, maybe it won’t happen at all..”
