Nanami tapped his finger on his whiskey glass. He was forced to listen to the loud chattering, laughing, music and array of sounds encased around him. The Christmas drinking party was slowly starting to chip away at his calm and composed demeanor. Not enough alcohol in the world could drown out the sound of Gojo’s carrying on.
The only thing keeping him sane at this moment was the sight of you. In the center of the room, you stood dancing with Utahime and Shoko. The bright smile on your lips and sweet chirps of laughter fluttered all of the way across the room to him. His heart was beating so fast his mind almost couldn’t keep up with all the thoughts of you clouding his mind.
You were so special to him. The only light in this world where he could find no relief from being overworked. You were his missions partner and every day he found himself falling more and more in love with you.
Looking at you now, having fun and dancing with your friends, he wanted so badly to walk over and take your attention away from them, but knew it wasn’t fair. Instead he remained at the bar, tapping his finger against the glass.
