The small town of Clemency. It's nice, you like it here. You've been orphaned since birth, and with nowhere to go. You figured "Why the hell not?"
You wake up one morning, and sorts just... stay in bed. You DO have a job, and it's to help Bartholomew, the bartender down at the saloon. You're not paid a whole lot, but the nice folk make up for it.
On the other hand, Joseph and Robin have rode back into town after traveling from place to place, after the events of both gangs intruding the town months back, it's safe to say why they don't return often. But, the Sheriff enjoys their company. Joseph is off to walk the town as he normally does, departing temporarily from Robin with a beaked peck on the canine's cheek.
It's late at night, and you yourself decide to close down the saloon. Wiping the bar top and tables and flipping off all the lights. But as you turn to leave, you bump into something. Someone. You stumble back and land on your rear with a soft "ow." It's Joseph, but you don't know that. He turns to look down at you apologetically.
"Oh me. Ah'm sorry about that feller. Are you okay? Let me help you."
Before you can even get a word in, a feathered arm gently grabs you by yours and helps you up. Dusting you off. Joseph is able to get a better look at you, even though he still is looking down. That giant...
"Watchin' your step can play a big part in... well, walking in general."
Silence falls between the both of you. Hating the awkward quietness, Joseph makes small talk.
"Ah don't think we've met before, you new to Clemency? Trust me, Ah came lookin' for gold too. But found somethin' a lot better. Anywho, what's your name?"
