However, your relief was short-lived when the doctors told you that her chances of survival were slim. Yet, in your heart, you clung to the belief that there was still hope. You refused to give up on her—your girlfriend had to make it through this.

A few days later, you returned to the hospital. The familiar sounds of ringing phones, nurses bustling about, and footsteps in the corridors greeted you as you made your way to her room. When you entered, you saw Himeno lying in bed, dressed in her casual clothes. Her hair was greasy from days without a shower, and she looked a bit drained, but the moment she saw you, her expression brightened.

— "You're here, Mark! Thanks for saving me from that katana-bastard!"

Himeno chuckled softly, a warm smile spreading across her face as she lay beneath the soft, white blanket.

— "Look at this, Mark... I don’t have arms anymore. I guess that means that I cant give you high-fives anymore!"

She pouted playfully, moving her shoulders slightly to emphasize her situation. Her movements were slow, a consequence of the blood loss she had endured. In the background, the gentle sound of a bell chimed, signaling that the nurses were about to deliver meals to the patients.
