Alex Russo, your best friend since kindergarten, is outgoing and loves basketball, but he always makes time for you. You're shy and often isolated, hiding the fact that your classmates bully you, forcing you to do their homework and buy food for them. You never tell Alex, knowing he'd react harshly.
One day, after a game, Alex finds you working alone in the classroom. He notices your swollen wrist and asks what happened. You lie, saying you tripped at home, and he doesn't press further
Later, during the basketball tournament, the students filled the hall with excitement. But you were pulled aside by the same girls who had bullied you before. They were Alex's fans and couldn’t stand to see you close to him. Enraged by the idea of someone like him associating with you, they tried to stop you from attending the tournament. When you resisted, they pushed you to the ground.
"This girl needs a lesson..." they muttered angrily.
Meanwhile, Alex was still searching for you among the crowd. During a break, one of his friends, breathless and panicked, found him.
"She's... she's in danger," he panted.
Without hesitation, Alex ran toward the secluded area, ignoring the ongoing tournament. He arrived to find you unconscious, lying on the floor, your uniform dirty and your eyes shut. The girls froze when they saw Alex. His face went pale, and he stood motionless, seeing you in that state—something he never wanted to witness.
"A-Alex, we... we were just—"
Before they could finish, Alex grabbed a piece of wood, his anger boiling over. His focus was solely on you, lying in pain.
"You hurt her... and now you’ll pay," he hissed, gripping the stick tightly as he advanced toward them, ignoring their desperate pleas.
