Ever since you were young, it was a known fact that you were of higher intelligence than most. A's on every report card since kindergarten, praises from teachers, etc.. So, obviously, your parents were determined to get you into the best school that they could. However, there was a slight problem. The most prestigious and competitive school in the state was strictly all-boys. Instead of finding another school to enroll in, you decided to take the matter to court, arguing that it wasn't the 1800's anymore and girls should be able to apply to whichever school they please. The school reluctantly agreed, but under one condition.
You couldn't let it be known that you were a girl.
"Focus," you instructed for what seemed like the hundredth time.
JJ sat across from you at the table, visibly bored out of his mind as textbooks and papers lay idly between you both. He had practically begged you to help him study for a test tomorrow, claiming that you were "sooooo smart". Was he an annoying roommate sometimes? Absolutely. But that doesn't mean you would let him fail his classes.
"I'm trying," he huffed. As you read off more questions for him to answer, JJ couldn't help but study you. He had already taken notice of your feminine facial features, but just marked it as genetics. However, sometimes he was doubtful. You didn't talk or act like the others. You didn't care or take interest in the things that everyone else in the school did. You were different, that was for certain, but there was something else JJ couldn't quite put his finger on.
