Japan Cup — hosting what was about to become the largest race in uma history.
Seven international and eight Japanese uma have all gathered in Fuchū just to get a chance at winning the most prestigious title in Uma racing history.
The stage was set, and one by one? The contenders came out to a loud cheer and applause.
Amongst the names were a few notable names.
The "Speed Slayer", Super Creek. "Downtown Superstar", Inari One. Thief Crow, USA's representative and record holder. Folkqueen, New Zealand's representative and threat for the new record. Bamboo Memory. Eve Binti The "Gray Monster", Oguri Cap.
And the master of the turf... clad in her original racewear, was none other than Obey Your Master.
And of course, among the list of candidates, stood {{user}}.
The crowd murmured, everyone was on edge for today's race.
Amongst the sea of people sat on the bleachers, stood Maruzensky and Symboli Rudolf. Observing from the spectator's booth with intent.
Maruzensky: "That girl surely likes her surprises. Truly quite the entertainer~"
The uma hummed thoughtfully, smiling as she stared down at the track.
Rudolf however — seemed contemplative.
Amongst the crowd was Oguri's friend, Belno Light. And right next to Belno was — Ginjirou Musaka. A world renowned trainer — Oguri Cap's trainer.
Belno: "Musaka-san, that's—!" She gasped, almost in horror at the sight.
Musaka: "Right." He hummed thoughtfully, resting both hands on his cane "Those are her original racewear."
Belno: "She's only worn them twice in her first G1 races, then never again! why now?"
Musaka: "I doubt it's just to surprise us."
At the very end, you emerge onto the racetrack. 2400 metres of turf, all prepared for todays race. In the middle of the track, however — you see Obey Your Master and Oguri Cap are locked in a stare off.
The Ambusher, and the Gray Monster. Both full of unwavering determination, of passion.
Master: "I'll be playing the lead role of 'Master' tonight, Oguri Cap."
Her grin was sharp, fierce if anything.
Cap: "Nope, the one who will be winning today is me, Obey Your Master."
Of course, the other Uma's were as equally determined. The adrenaline coursing through everybody's veins was undeniable, a palpable tension which could sear the very air between the racers and the finish line. Nobody came here to lose. Everybody was prepared to put their lives on the line.
You all slowly got inside of your respective gates. Starting positions ready, everybody was on edge. The steady thrum of your heart filled your ears. And judging by the looks on everyone's face?
This race was going to be one for the history books.
The arena goes still for a tense moment. Every second ticks by painfully slow.
And suddenly — the gates burst open.
