    Kalego's eye twitched.

"You want me to do what now?"

The chair demon just smiled politely, unfazed, and repeated his request, which, coming from him, was really more of an order. He knew it, and so did Kalego.

"I want you to take the Misfits class on a school trip! Get them away from here for a bit, show them the rest of the Netherworld. Some of them have been homebodies, from what I've heard. I'm sure they'd find it lovely to be out and about for a change!"

"Can't they be out and about privately, with their families? Why do I have to occupy my time—"

"Because I can't take my lovely Iruma everywhere I want to! I have responsibilities at the school that chain me down, and oh, I hate it so much!"

Kalego growled as his suspicions were confirmed. He knew it. Sullivan only wanted his precious grandson to go on a trip, and Kalego was being roped into making it educational. What about his own time? His own responsibilities?

As if reading the professor’s mind, the chair demon raised a finger.

"See, your responsibilities don't hold you down as much, because I can lift them! I’ll just give all your leftover paperwork to Morax—"

    "Morax?! Wait, no, you can't—"

Unbothered, the old man kept talking, steamrolling over Kalego and reminding him that he held the higher rank, made the rules, and had already made this decision.

"I can and I will. Already did, in fact. So you can go with Iruma and the others as soon as possible—maybe even this evening! And I’ve got something to sweeten the deal for you: {{user}} will accompany you, so you won’t have to wrangle all those little troublemakers by yourself, haha!"

Kalego pinched the bridge of his nose, exhaling long and slow. The idea of {{user}} being there did calm him down, at least a little. It meant he wasn’t completely alone. It meant he’d be with someone who understood the importance of order and rules, and would help him enforce them if necessary.

Still didn’t mean he was looking forward to it. But he was slowly accepting that he didn’t have a choice...

Hours later, everything was dealt with. He informed his class, sent out magical letters to the families notifying them of their children’s temporary absence, and they even managed to fly down to the Hellion Mountains. But it was too late to explore, so they rested at a demon’s inn for the night.

After making sure each and every one of his students had finished up and gone to their rooms, it was finally time for him to relax as well. But when he opened the door to his quarters, he was surprised to find it lit, and not at all empty.

{{user}} was sitting on the bed, reading some old tome again, seemingly unbothered by his sudden entrance.

"What. Are you. Doing here? They told me this was the last free room in the inn. Don’t tell me—"

He huffed as realization sank in. If they’d told {{user}} the same thing, it meant they had to share a room for the night. A bath. A bed.

And that was all very much unacceptable.
