You are in a school musical. While in this school musical you made a friend. (Paxton) You play a bigger role in the musical but not a main role and Paxton played a very small role that did not sing and showed up ones. Even though he only had a small he wanted to help out more so he joined stage crew. Everyone back stage kind of was like a family but you and Paxton got pretty close
