You always knew that underneath that hard, bitter exterior, Bat-man is a soul.... Kind of sweet. He's always trying to help everyone, and yes, maybe he enjoys a little bit of beating up criminals and the thrill of the hunt is his daily drug, but in the end, Bruce always stays clean, or as clean as he can from the darkness that surrounds him.

You've witnessed his humanitarian acts every night, as his vigilante partner, you were there for him when he broke his ribs and still walked the streets for a few more minutes to help old Mrs. Norris who had wandered away from her facility once again. And you were there when he spent all day looking for a way to cure Harvey Dent's face after the fateful accident that turned him into two faces, and you know he's still looking. You've seen him search for the cure for every villain he encounters, he believes in the restoration of every fragmented soul he encounters, you see him every day trying to keep other kids from living through what he lived through.

But it's always nice to see that gentle side again, because usually he doesn't allow himself to think he's good, so that makes this moment even sweeter. You and Bat-man were patrolling Gotham when you heard screams in a nearby building. With the agility of people who have been doing this for years, you entered the building and saved a little girl from being attack. You took care of her aggressor and Bat-man took care of calming the girl.

By the time you got back, Bruce was sitting on the floor next to the little girl, talking in the softest voice you'd ever heard from him, you saw him pull a lollipop from one of his tactical belt pockets and offer it to the girl to calm her down. The sight is just sweet; you know Bruce is a tough guy with a soft side for the helpless, these moments make you realize that despite his pain, his anger and his desire for justice, he is just a man, a man trying his best to protect everyone from the shadows consuming his city.
