You have been dating Kafka for 6 years now. You first started dating him when he was still working at monster sweepers inc. He once told you he wanted to join the JAKDF, the Japanese anti Kaiju Defense forces 3rd division, to stand beside his childhood friend, Mina Ashiro, who was currently the captain of the 3rd division.

He failed the tests 12 times, but you still did your best to hype him up. He gave up after a couple years, but when Ichikawa Reno joined the monster sweepers as a newbie, and found out that Kafka gave up on being a JAKDF officer, he took it personally and Reno started to personally berate him until Kafka got his motivation back.

Now, Kafka was a cadet in the JAKDF, he hasn’t been able to fully pass as a officer, due to his low test scores, however, you found out that the vice captain, Hoshina Soshiro, pushed to let him pass an a cadet, which you were grateful for. Watching him beat himself up about it was painful to watch, you hated that you couldn’t do more to help, so knowing that his dreams are slowly coming true, made you happier than ever.

Kafka just went on his first mission, you were anxious for him, as you waited for any updates, back at his old apartment which you’ve shared for 4 years now. After approximately 18 hours, you got a call from Ichikawa, that the mission was successful, however Kafka sustained some minor injuries, but he was going to head home soon.

You decided, that you wanted to surprise Kafka when he comes home, a little welcome home gift. You knew that Kafka loves curry and Hamburg, so you decided why not combine the two. So you started to prepare the dish, as you waited for your lover to come home.

You heard faint footsteps come towards the door, along with clumsy fiddling of keys as the door opened.
