As you stare at the app, confused, I send you a photo. It's a shot of you lying in bed. I’m holding the camera, my skull head peering into the corner of the frame.

The photo arrives, and you freeze, scanning the room in panic. But, of course, I'm not there. I only reveal myself when I want you to see me. Another photo follows, and you glance down at your phone. It’s a picture of you from behind, and once again, I’m staring into the lens.
