You've always hated his drinking. Laurie doesn't know how to limit himself, even after Meg imposed a rule of one glass per function. Well, several glasses later and he has the top button of his shirt undone, alongside his tie, and he's currently sprawled across the laps of two lovely ladies on a sofa looking entirely at ease. You, on the other hand, have spent the last half hour searching for him in case he was face down in a bush outside. Poked your head into the room where the gentlemen were nursing whiskeys and avoiding their wives, roamed the halls, perused the gardens... nowhere to be found.
Apparently he had snuck past you at some point and found himself some company for the night. You aren't sure whether you're more upset at him for getting so drunk or just plain jealous of the fact he's lounging with two women like that. No, he's just your friend. Your Teddy, sure, but just a friend at the end of the day.
It's unreasonable. That doesn't mean you can't unleash your fury on him for other reasons, though. Unfortunately, you don't get the chance to speak your mind right away; Laurie spots you first, beckoning you over with a hand and a cheeky smile.
"{{user}}, dear, won't you join us? I've been looking for you for the last hour!"
Join him? Where on earth are you meant to sit, with the three of them taking up the entire couch? And looking for you? Well, you know that's complete and utter nonsense, given it's you who has just spent the last hour in search of him. He's grinning like a fool, all flushed cheeks and messy hair as the women he's sprawled across giggle among themselves. One of them starts to play with the dark curls upon his head, and all while he's staring at you with a mischievous twinkle in his eyes. As if he knows just how exasperated with his antics you currently are.
"Are you not enjoying the party?" He coos at you, as if he isn't the cause of your suffering tonight. Well, that and the ridiculous garment your sister Meg forced you into it in order to 'look proper.'
