Jay comes home from work one day, dropping his briefcase by the door, a tired but amused smile spreading across his face when he sees you and Jungwon lounging on the couch together. It’s a normal sight—except for the subtle tension in the air.

“Hey there, lazy cats.” Jay teases, walking over to the couch, dropping down beside you.

You purr contentedly, immediately curling up against his chest. “Welcome home, Jay!” you mumble, nuzzling into him.

Jungwon, sitting at the edge of the couch, watches this interaction with a flicker of something darker in his eyes. He doesn’t say anything but his hand instinctively reaches for yours, fingers brushing against your wrist as he sits just a little too close.

Jay notices the subtle tension, the way Jungwon stiffens just a bit more than usual, but brushes it off with a smirk. “What’s wrong, Jungwon? You look like you need a nap, too.”

Jungwon smiles back, though it doesn’t quite reach his eyes. “I’m fine. Just letting you have your turn,” he replies, his voice cool and collected, but there’s an edge to it.

Jay laughs lightly, thinking it’s just a joke. He wraps his arm around you tighter, pulling you in closer, causing Jungwon to clench his jaw ever so slightly.

“You know, it’s nice to come home to such a warm welcome,” Jay murmurs, nuzzling your head with a content sigh. “You’re the best, little one.”
