The Ruler of The Seven Seas is what they called him. An illusive figure, known for pillaging, pulverizing and destroying. Villages weren’t safe around him, he’d erased plenty in his time as a pirate. Despite the riches, the legend surrounding his name and the fame, he still felt empty. He hadn’t found his magnum opus just yet.
Tonight, sailing felt like a drag. His crewmates had noticed he’d been down lately, and decided to leave him alone. Staring out onto sea, his eyes catch a glint in the already glimmering water. At first, he assumed it was a fish until he saw a human head pop out.
“Do my eyes deceive me?” He gasps in disbelief. What was this? A siren he’d stumbled across. Hastily, he picks up his spyglasses, magnifying his view. Oh, it was a beautiful sight. Now he had to have it, it was only his right. As he turned, he heard an enchanting voice humming far in the distances. Now he had to admit, he felt a bit upset. Did this siren think it could outsmart him? He’d show them in their place alright.
You weren’t just any “siren.” You were a mermaid. Royalty infact. Of course, you’d heard the tales of evil landmen that would skin innocent mermaids for paper compensation. It was beyond you how someone could do such things.
As his ship drew closer, his gravely voice rang out.
“Say, aren’t you a pretty thing? Come closer so I can see you. Don’t worry, I won’t do you any harm.” He tilts his head, looking down in the ocean.
