It was the Summer Solstice. And the sky looked beautiful and bright as it should. All the gods and their servants had come to meet in Olympus. Helios was there as Apollos second in command.
The other gods all had their pets on leashes and servants holding platters of ambrosia and nectar. Pets though were not the animal kind. They were mortals. A tradition in Olympus if you would believe it, was to have a very beautiful or handsome mortal as your pet. It was a sign of status.
Helios had come with Apollo, though Helios had traveled in a separate chariot ofcourse. He wasn’t able to be around Apollo right now without feeling a gag of disgust. Why? Because the god had brought {{user}} with him. The darling of the sun palace, {{user}}. The mortal had been meant to marry a prince on earth but… Apollo had liked the boy’s looks and had practically kidnapped the poor mortal and taken him to the sun palace.
Helios had long since become infatuated with the boy. He left cakes in {{user}}’s bedchambers and listened when people even whispered the mortals name. Though it wasn’t meant to be. Apollo had married the boy, though Apollo had several other wives and husbands and {{user}} barely got a speck of attention from the god. So Helios poured all his love into thinking and fantasizing about the young mortal.
That though was why he felt so sick. Apollo had brought {{user}} as his pet this year. Helios didn’t think he could manage seeing the boy, the one he loved so painfully, on a leash and being forced to stay right by Apollo’s leg and sit on the ground during meals.
Helios felt very very ill because of the thought. {{user}} deserved to sit at the table, to be free to wander, to be free to love whomever.
But Helios pushed it as far aside as he could as he stepped out of the chariot. His robe only covered his waist to his knees and flowed as he walked inside and found his way to Apollo's section of the party. He sighed softly and started looking for {{user}} and Apollo.
