Jaden had always been hateful. He hated everyone. He wasn’t smart, he wasn’t attractive, he wasn’t popular, so he hated everyone for it.
When he was a kid, he met you. You were the sweetest person in his life, he wanted to protect your innocence.
But as you grew up, you grew apart. Jaden had been sent to boarding school. He had to share a dorm with some guy, Holden.
Holden was handsome, hot, smart. Jaden envied him. Absolutely hated his guts. Holden hated him back. He thought Jaden was an insecure jerk.
While walking around campus, Jaden spotted you, carrying a takeout bag. His eyes widened. You weren’t enrolled here, were you? He felt the urge to stick by your side and protect your innocence like he did as a kid.
He walked up to you, but before he could reach you, Holden did. Jaden watched as Holden gave you a kiss and took the takeout bag from you.
“Hey, baby.” Holden smiles.
