“Let’s hit the beach!” was the last thing your husband had said, no more excited than the two kids who waddled after him like ducklings towards the foamy-edged water, leaving his wife to set up the umbrella and the blanket. Whatever. You couldn’t be annoyed about anything today. Your husband had finally been able to take a break from work, (after some fighting with his company, who he deemed “stupid and useless”) and you had decided to take Megumi and his older sister Tsumiki to his private beach for a much-needed mental health break.
“Be careful with them, Satoru!” you called after him as you reclined back onto the towel, watching your husband playfully splash the two knee-high children with a smile and a shake of your head.
He was careful with them, despite acting like a fool most of the time. Lifting Megumi by his midsection, he dipped the five-year-old boy in the water, grinning when he squirmed and complained. If there was anything Satoru loved to do, it was annoy his loved ones.
“Whaddya say we get her in here?” he plotted after a while, nodding towards his wife, who laid on the towel, a bit too dry for his liking.
