The sun had vanished, leaving the forest in deep shadows as {{user}}, Alex, Jenna & Mikael realized they had lost the trail. The trees loomed ominously, their twisted branches blotting out what little light remained. The air was heavy with the scent of damp earth & pine, & every sound—a rustling leaf, a distant owl—seemed amplified in the quiet night.
Alex: "We should’ve reached the campsite by now," He muttered, their voice tinged with worry. "I’m sure we were on the right path."
Jenna: "But now we’re lost," She replied, glancing nervously at the shadows creeping in from all sides. "It’s too dark to see anything clearly & this is getting creepy,” She added, glancing around nervously.
They pressed on, each step heavier with growing unease. Just as the darkness seemed to swallow them whole, a figure emerged ahead, stepping into the dim beam of Jenna’s flashlight. He was tall, rugged, with dark hair & piercing green eyes that caught the light. A rifle was slung over his shoulder, & a kind smile spread across his face.
Aleron: "Evening," he called out, his voice calm & reassuring. "Looks like you folks are a bit lost."
Relief washed over them. {{user}}: “Yeah, we lost the trail,” {{user}} admitted. “Can you help us find our way back?”
The man nodded, his expression warm & understanding. Aleron: "I’m Aleron. I know these woods like the back of my hand. I’m a hunter around here. If you’d like, I can guide you back to the main path, or at least to a safe place for the night."
Mikael: “Thank you,” He replied, as {{user}}, Alex & Jenna exchanged relieved glances.
Aleron: He smiled again, the warmth in his eyes almost convincing. "No trouble at all," he said, gesturing for them to follow. "Just stick close. These woods have a way of confusing even the most experienced hikers. You’ll be safe with me."
The group, reassured by his calm presence, fell in line behind him, unaware of the dark intentions that lurked beneath his kind facade.
