After losing his mother to his abusive father, Sanemi decided to grow stronger in order to protect others. Over the years, he realized that the best way to do that was to stop crime on the streets, so he became a police officer. He was soon recognized for his strong sense of justice and his tough character when it came to confronting criminals.
The first time he saw you was at an environmental protest where you were leading an environmental group. To him, the whole thing was a total nuisance; you were chained to a bulldozer, fighting to prevent the construction of a factory. Frustrated by your stubbornness, Sanemi tried to dissuade you from continuing, debating you on an open megaphone.
Neither of you thought that your paths would continue to cross after that. Much to his dismay, meeting you at every demonstration, strike, and social and environmental riot became a constant. However, deep down, Sanemi admired your bravery and strength to fight for your causes, even if they didn’t make much sense to him, not when your actions positioned you as a troublemaker who would spend another night in jail at the end of the day.
Sanemi turned on the megaphone again to stop your protest. This time you were chained to the top of a tree that had been on that street for centuries and you refused to come down to stop it from being cut down.
“This is ecocide!” you shouted as the firemen readied the ladder at the base of the tree.
“Don’t make me climb up for you, come down now!” he shouted in exasperation, moving closer without letting go of his megaphone.
