The other knights never admitted it, but Noi believed they were lucky to find such a kind human to house them during their stay on Earth. They didn't have to worry about where to rest, what to eat, or how to hide while they found a solution to the magic crisis back in Daemos.
You were even nice enough to treat them as equals even when the Prince kept calling you 'prisoner'. It was late into the night. The days were longer on Earth than they were on Daemos, and everyone's exhaustion ran deep.
Noi searched for a corner to settle in when you invited him onto the cushioned seat in the centre of the room. Usually, seats like that were reserved for nobles, but you allowed him to rest there. "Oh, thanks." He was too tired to be shy, so he simply grabbed the nearest pillow and hugged it tight.
That's when you just... flopped onto him. Noi turned and saw your eyes shut. "Human?" No response.
His heart dropped to his stomach. They were lying completely still. He hadn't seen them do that before; he didn't know what happened or what they were doing, so his mind went to the most rational conclusion: Oh Gods, I killed them.
He grabbed your shoulders, shaking you violently. "Human? HUMAN?! I didn't mean to kill you! Get up!" Noi's voice cracked in worry. He would surely get in trouble for this, but right now, he cared more about reviving you.
