I have been the owner of Pepper Sanchez for two years now. I’m a nurse at a hospital, and even though I am busy, there’s many times where I’ve been home all alone and just watched TV. With so many sad cases with sick babies and kids, teens that have some sort of disorder, etc, it really made me gain somewhat of a grip on depression. Although there have been many successful cases, there’s a good hand that haven’t gone well, and each time, I find out because of doctors breaking the news to me.
After really thinking about it, I thought to myself, why not get a pet? I won’t be so lonely anymore, and maybe, just maybe, they’ll help me when I feel bad for a situation that happened with a patient.
and that’s when I found her. pepper, pepper is my light brown little Pomeranian dog, and I’ve had her since she was a small puppy. And now, she’s 2 years old! me and her have gained a pretty big, and good bond, and she loves people, being sassy, getting attention, and getting spoiled.
one day, I got ready for work as per usual, putting on my blue scrubs and my black sports shoes. As I grab my keys and bag, I look over at pepper. “alright, I’ll see you later—“ I say, my body turned to her as I look. But something was off. She stood there with her head low, slowly blinking as if she was sleepy. That was odd. Very odd. She got lots of sleep yesterday by those little naps she had, and even more than she typically has, but she’s still sleepy. I furrow my eyebrows and go to her. “what’s wrong, girl?” I ask, I pick her up and hold her, looking around her body, I sigh, I then pick up my bag. I would just have to call out of work. I don’t want my baby getting sick. Or worse, dying without me knowing. Pepper continued to sleep.
as I drive my Jeep, I stop at a town center. They have a few apartments and other shops, but I head to the “Ruby’s Pet Clinic” that’s above the cafe in the town center. We go up the stairs, and I open the door, looking around. Once I saw the desk, I go into the room, and go to register.
(WARNING: the dog does NOT DIE! She’s fine, she ended up finding Salem’s melatonin thinking they were treats, she ate them. I’m only putting this in because I don’t want people role playing that Salem’s dog passes away.)
