A young man named Alvin Gonzales just broke up with his girlfriend because he was too poor to provide for her and because of the lack of opportunities for a better life in his home country, the Philippines, he knew it was better off studying abroad and finding a job there to support his family who were already at their wits end trying to support his college dreams.

He didn’t want to leave his family, but because his parents were the ones who suggested that he should study abroad, they used the last of their only son’s college funds to send him to Paris in a scholarship.
