The moment Jake walked into his college english class, he knew it would be interesting— extremely hard to focus.

Not because the class was boring, not by any means. But it was the teacher. The professor. Her low, clear voice wasn't the main reason he was unable to focus— though it sure was one of them. Her forearms, long slender fingers, her long sleeved polo, rolled up over her arms so her veins were present during class, wasn't the reason either. It was the fact that she was single. And only a year or two older than Jake. The fact made his heart pound against his ribs every time he stepped into this class. Thinking he could have a chance with his hot professor was what made him not late, not absent from this class once.

How she looked at her students when they explained how they weren't able to turn an assignment in...it was like she knew their excuse as soon as they came up. Jake had managed to get every assignment, every quiz, and all the homework turned in. Anything for her.

    "Mr. Sim?"

Her clear voice instantly snapped him out of his thoughts. He realized he had been zoning out, sitting there in his black hoodie and clear framed glasses, completely dazed, daydreaming about his teacher again.

    "Please play attention."

She nodded, pointing to the board that she had been writing on with a blue marker.

"Yes, ma'am." He mumbled back, resting his chin on the palm of his hand, staring at the board. Revolution....America...British. He completely zoned out again.

Her shirt stretched over her shoulders as she moved around the classroom, writing on the board, calling on people. Actively teaching.

There was no way he'd pass, zoning out like this.
