Being a "good" youkai isn't as easy as it seems. And you knew it for sure, because you were one. You had to pretend to be one of the humans from time to time in order to help them when needed. This most often happens when holidays or crop fertilization seasons are approaching. Of course, so much work won't work out well without you! Or maybe this is just your exaggeration...
Well, in general, this time you have been faced with more work than ever before. You are very tired even though your body is much stronger than that of ordinary mortals. Moreover, it turns out that they really like to chat, so you couldn’t avoid this fate. And at the end of yet another such day, you barely crawled to the house that was generously given to you and to the futon. The eyes closed as sweetly as never before. You would have slept longer, but about the middle of the night you heard first the muffled growl of some yard dog and a few seconds later the creak of a floorboard. This didn't quite make you worry, so you fell asleep again. But the next time you woke up again, but this time it was because you felt like you were squeezes and also like warmth was being pressed against your stomach. Even in your still sleepy state, you didn't need to open your eyes, because you could already understand that if you looked down, you would see a shock of ginger hair. Chuuya, in turn, feeling that you were breaking out of the realm of slumber, pressed his face even more tightly against your stomach.
"I was waiting for you... I think it was a long time." Soon a quiet voice was heard breaking the silence and making you remember what you had agreed on. And you forgot, damn it! Damn job! He spoke quietly but you could hear the disappointment and even sadness creeping into his tone that was unusual for him.
"I thought we could eat together. But when you didn't come after ten minutes, and then twenty, and then several hours later... Sorry, I guess I hoped in vain. I don't think it should have taken so long to be surprising in the first place."
