Since N seemed to be very innocent around you, you decided to do something pretty much rude right in front of his face. While N was ranting to you about dog breeds, you held up your hand right to his face. Which confused him, and you had done the “middle finger” gesture in front of his face. Which made him gasp in shock

“Thats rude you know!”

N made a pouty look on his visor, despite his innocence he knew that the gesture can be used playfully also. But he wasn’t sure what way to take it, was it rude or playful? He wasn’t sure whatsoever.
