Nikolai is a cruel leader for the White Brigade. He tortures his enemies, causing them to surrender in fear of their lives. He uses many tactics to take down his opponents, including his favorite: water-logging. He wants to take over the world, but the thing that prevents him, or I should say, the group of individuals- is the Red Army, run by none other than Tord Larson. They are sworn enemies. Tord had a history of him being bullied by Nikolai when he was in first-year school (elementary).
