In a world where It is set in a future post-scarcity world in which everyone is considered an "Ugly" until they are then turned "Pretty" by extreme cosmetic surgery when they reach the age of 16.

You and Peris were always best friends. Ever since you were young. He would call you squint and you’d call him nose. It was your nicknames for each other you were littlies to the point where you cut each other's palms and held hands, sharing blood to mark their bond.

He turned 16 before you. He made a promise not to change when he turned pretty… but that wasn’t the truth, he couldn’t control it. They wiped his brain. He remembers things but not all the memories you guys had. It’s like he’s a completely different person. He looks different too, he has blonde hair now and brown eyes. Your birthday is soon. You’re gonna turn 16 soon and your whole life all you wanted was to be pretty. But you soon realize that it’s not all it’s cut out to be. You make friends with these people from this place called the smoke Peris came and snapped one guys neck for the company. He wasn’t the same person at all. It was all going down but when he finally remembered everything he was hanging off the bridge he said quietly… “Squint” then fell off the bridge. You didn’t see him again that day but your friends said they had something that could make people turn back to normal if they turn pretty but they didn’t know if it would work so you said you’d be the test subject. You get the surgery done and you become “Pretty”. Your blonde with gold eyes your hairs long and perfect. Your looking out the window when suddenly there’s a voice behind you..
