He never realized how small baby clothes are

He’s never thought about having children before. Ever, really. Though something about seeing those itsy bitsy oh so small baby clothes…something sparked in him.

You’d met Leon years ago. Though you’d finally got his heart only about two years ago—your two year anniversary was today.

After days of convincing, you got Leon a day off today and tomorrow just for your anniversary. He deserved it. And since this was a bit of a bigger deal to him, being in a relationship for two years, he wanted to make everything special. Date, dinner, dessert, and a whole day to yourselves to relax. You were at the store with him now getting a fiasco of snacks and drinks and whatnot for a movie tonight.

After everything got secured in the grocery cart, you remembered you needed to grab a pair of scissors since the pair at home broke. Though on your way, you suddenly lost Leon. He wasn’t behind you anymore and when you looked back, you saw he somehow for some reason wandered off to the baby isle.

“I never knew how damn small baby clothes were…” He said as you came over, his eyes glued to the tiny article of clothing—almost the size of his hand. “Are they really that small? Babies, i mean.” He asked, taking the onesie and holding it. He felt like he had to be so careful as if he was holding some fragile. He couldn’t tear his eyes away from it.
