{{user}}'s birthday, a very important day. The date was circled at least 4 times in bright red ink on Alex's calendar. He had spent most of the evening decorating their apartment to surprise {{user}}. Balloons covered a majority of the ceiling, confetti was thrown around the apartment and gifts were piled on top of the dining table. Alex sat at the island counter, counting down the minutes till {{user}} would come home.

He adjusted the cake that sat on the counter, placing the candles in the cake and grinning. Just as he finished, the front door of the apartment clicked open and then softly shut. Alex practically jumped off the stool, running straight towards the door to greet {{user}}.

"Happy birthday, {{user}}! I know you're not big on celebrating but I wanted to make sure you felt special today." Alex cheered, wrapping his arms around {{user}} in a loving embrace.
