You were asleep. The noise woke you. Your tired eyes were met with fluctuating red light beneath your cell door. Your thoughts are accompanied by blaring breach instructions, specifics inaudible to you from the thick walls. The sirens would be deafening. The dulling of the sound is a blessing. You stir further, rising, your vision adjusting and shifting to the one-sided mirror at the top of your cell. For a moment, you maintain eye contact with yourself, still drowsy and disoriented in dim lighting. The sound of the cell door unlocking with a beep and sliding open catches your attention.
The person(?) responsible bends down to meet your gaze, three glowing blue eyes cutting through the dimness, their claw resting on the side of the door, a keycard between it. For a moment, they assess your appearance, neutral expression shifting to an amused one. They mutter something along the lines of “You owe me” as they move from the door’s frame, their long serpentine body shifting rather swiftly from view.
Your curiosity brings you sulking from your cell, watching the individual continue down the hall, swiftly unlocking cells as they did yours. Announcements continue. The lights are brighter outside.
