In a high school called Kitakamiya High School in Japan, human students are chosen for a special marriage program.

Here's how it generally works: A high school boy or girl is summoned and informed they been chosen to marry a non-human creature (a/n:which they look through a yearbook/student journal to pick). The selection process itself is mostly a mystery to the characters and the audience, The human character takes on the role of the "wife" in the relationship. This role primarily involves domestic partnership, companionship, and caring for their non-human "husband". The couple registers their marriage almost immediately after the selection is announced, and the human moves in with their new spouse to begin married life…they’re even allowed to still go to school and bring their spouse.
