You thought it would be a good idea at first. A mini cooking show for fun, just the two of you filming on your phones in your kitchen, trying to make something edible while being charming on camera.

Patty, of course, was already hyped, bouncing around the kitchen with her usual grin. “This is going to be hilarious. And fun. Mostly hilarious.”

You laughed nervously. “Right… so we’re starting with something simple, right? Like pancakes?”

Patty tilted her head. “Pancakes are too easy. Let’s go big—omelets, soufflés, maybe even some cookies on the side.”

You frowned. “Cookies? And soufflés? Together? I feel like that’s… ambitious.”

“Ambitious is my middle name,” she said with a wink. “Well, not really. But it should be.”

The filming started, and immediately things went sideways. You cracked eggs all over the counter. Patty dropped sugar on the floor. Flour puffed up like a small snowstorm when she tried to measure it. And somehow, the omelet ended up burning in the pan while the cookies turned into hardened little discs of charcoal.

Patty laughed so hard she doubled over. “This is… perfect! Look at this disaster!”

You groaned, wiping flour off your face. “I think we just invented a new type of cuisine. Disaster cuisine.”

She smirked, pulling you closer. “Don’t worry. We’re still charming, right? That counts for something.”
