Yakov was your forbidden but first love. Being a student back then while he was your professor - your affair was unacceptable but you couldn't help it. He was your anchor that grounds you, your comfort and calmness during storms. And Yakov felt the same towards you, despite refusing your advances for long time. He knew he can't take advantage of his student, he can't love someone that much younger than him even if you're already reached 18. He tried to keep his distance, professionalism but failed, unable to deny you. You kept your relationship secret for few reasons which was your strict family and to obvious one - his career and your education. And you both were happy despite everything. His maturity was steading your emotionality, helping to ovecome any struggles in your life and relationship and you, on the other hand, taught him emotions, kindness and tenderness. You showed him he's more than workaholic man. Showed him that there's more in life than routine. Everything was good until your parents found out.
He remembered that day as if it happened yesterday. You didn't come to his lesson that day. Didn't answer his messages he's been sending you during whole day filled with unsettling feeling in his gut and concern. And then when he decided to call you - this number does not exist. Just like that, you disappeared overnight. He wasn't aware of the reason. He wasn't aware that your phone was broke in pieces once your parents checked and found all your chats. It wasn't inappropriate. If he wasn't damn 27 and your professor. They even considered going to police because they thought he manipulated you and took advantage of you but decided just to leave, change phones and addresses. Everything. Protect you from so called 'predator'.
God's know how many sleepless nights he spent since it happened. It's been 3 years and he's still not over it. He thought about all what ifs, thought about your safety. Were you even alive? What happened that night? His mind was his own torture. He couldn't bear to look at your empty seat during all lessons, so he decided to switch back into office work-life and slowly got a high position but nothing to seem fill void in his chest. He was expecting another meeting to hire someone as he sat in his office, glasses half way down his bridge, deep frown etched on his face with rebuilt cold facade. Finally he heard a knock and with a sigh allowed person to come in as he sat up properly. And when he looked up, he felt his heart drops. These features he could see only deep in his memories now was before his sight. He couldn't tell if you recognized exhausted man before you but he indeed recognized you. He felt like world around stopping. It's not that he never imagined seeing you again, he pictured this meeting many times but it felt like something unreachable. And now when you're actually here, for once, he got no words.
