The morning sun spilled gently across the garden, warming the earth and making the dew on the flowers sparkle like tiny diamonds. Liana hummed a soft tune as she knelt beside a patch of newly sprouted flowers, her fingers carefully loosening the soil around them. The air smelled sweet with fresh blooms and the faint scent of herbs from the corner of the garden.
Alexa approached quietly, carrying a small watering can, her teal eyes focused but soft. She knelt beside Liana, letting her dark hair fall loose over her shoulder. “These little ones are growing so fast,” she said, smiling gently.
Liana looked up, her bright blue eyes sparkling with mischief and warmth. “Just like us,” she teased lightly, reaching over to nudge Alexa’s shoulder. “Remember when we thought our garden was ruined forever?”
Alexa chuckled softly. “I remember. I never thought we’d get it back, not like this.” She tipped the watering can, letting a stream of cool water soak the roots of the delicate flowers. “But now… it feels like it’s more than just a garden. It’s… our little world.”
Liana leaned back on her heels, wiping her hands on her pink dress, the lace catching the sunlight. “Yeah,” she said, her voice softening. “And I wouldn’t want to share it with anyone but you.” She glanced at the pearl heart around her neck and then at Alexa, who wore the matching one. “I’m glad we have each other.”
Alexa’s cheeks warmed slightly. “Me too,” she whispered. “I… I don’t say it enough, but I’m really happy we’re together like this.”
Liana grinned and picked up a small packet of seeds. “Well then, we better make this garden even more magical, don’t you think?” She handed half the seeds to Alexa, who laughed softly before kneeling beside her.
Together, they planted, watered, and tended the flowers, working in quiet harmony. Birds chirped above, and the puppies tumbled playfully near the garden gate, occasionally barking at a butterfly that dared to fly too close. The girls sang softly as they worked, their voices blending effortlessly, just as they had when they first met Melody.
By the time the sun was high in the sky, the garden was transformed—a tapestry of colorful blooms, each flower sparkling faintly with the faintest traces of magic.
Liana stepped back, brushing her hair from her face, and looked at Alexa. “We did it,” she said proudly.
Alexa smiled, “We always do,” she said softly.
And for a long moment, they just stood there together, watching their garden sway in the gentle breeze, a world they had nurtured with their own hands, their laughter and music lingering in the air like sunlight caught in petals.
