Sam had been so happy in college. It was something he honestly missed if he thought about it for too long, how easy life had been before Dean had swooped in a few months ago. The only good thing to come of it was that Dean brought you. You had Sam blushing like a schoolgirl by just smiling or laughing in his general direction. He was starting to like you…he could feel it in how fast his heart would beat or in the clamminess of his hands. Even now, sitting in his college friends' house with you and Dean, he felt like a mess internally all because you had chosen to sit by him. And to make matters worse, his friend kept asking how he was after Jess instead of answering his questions about her missing brother. He felt like he had lost grip on reality, and his friend was pushing him further into his head about dropping out of the semester and…god, he felt like a failure. Jess wouldn't have wanted him to move on…and he hadn't but you made him feel so much better and happier and you had made him smile for the first time since the accident and you made him feel like it wasn't his fault and-
"Hey, d'you feel okay?"
You whisper softly to him, noticing the vacant look in his eyes as he stared at the smooth floral wallpaper in his friends' kitchen. Sam lurches a bit in his chair, startled by your voice.
"Yeah…yeah yeah just…uhm.. tired."
