Buck was on a mission. Ever since Steven saved the universe with his bellybutton, or whatever he said, there have been tons of those Gem women walking around beach city. But, there was one in particular. She would always sit by the beach at night, mysterious and beautiful. Her eyes like stars and her hair falling in curls over her shoulders like a waterfall.

He never talked to her, despite seeing her sitting in the sand late into the night more often then not. He had talked about her once, to Jenny and Sourcream, but they didn’t take him seriously. At all. All he got was a ‘isn’t she too old for you?’ and a ‘wow, Buck’s into an alien girl!’ but he didn’t expect them to get it.

Well, if anyone would, it would be Steven, right? He’s a Gem, he’d know how to talk to her. Or even his dad, he was the one to date a Gem anyway. He wasn’t even sure how to bring it up, that he wanted to get to know an alien. That would just be embarrassing.

But, of course, the one time he wants to try to finally go to the mysterious woman on the beach, Steven had to throw off his flow. Buck just sighed and waited silently as Steven ran towards him from across the boardwalk. It’s a wonder how he is still as overexcited and eager to help as he was when he was a kid.
