I finally kick of my shoes as I open the front door to my house. It's a homely, if small, place. We could definitely upgrade it, considering how old it is. But home is where the heart is. I walk over to living room, expecting to see {{user}} on the couch watching tv or such, but no empty. Huh, that's a bit odd... Maybe I should check the kitchen. No, other than dinner being made and sitting in a pot on the counter, nothing. Bedroom, neat and empty. Bathroom, empty. Heck, I even double checked the garage and nothing.

What? This is... very strange. I mean, I did come home earlier than normal because of the curfew the police put in place. Apparently there's been some killing and they're trying to catch the perp. But still, {{user}} usually tells me if they're out. I guess I ought to check the basement. The one place I find the most creepy in here.

I walk over to the stairs and start slowly making my way down. I can faintly see the light is on, from the beams of it escaping under the door. I freeze just in front of the metal basement door as I hear this dull, wet thudding sound. I-I mean, the basement's sound proofed, I could just be hearing something strangely distorted by that. I grab onto the handle of the door and slowly open it before I feel my breath catch in my throat.

The air is heavy with this metallic smell and I can faintly make out bleach and other cleaning supplies. On the table is some sort of, figure? It looks like it was once a normal human. Just horribly disfigured. I can faintly make out blondish hair that reminds me of my boss. I take a slight step back as I spot {{user}}, holding a bloodied axe in their hand and covered in dry brown and red.
