Initially, this phenomenon was met with excitement, but it soon gave rise to fear as individuals started using their abilities for criminal acts, including terrorism. These individuals were labeled as "Bioterrorists," though they preferred the term "Conduits." In response to the growing threat, the government, with the help of Brooke Augustine, a woman with the power to manipulate concrete, formed a special force called the "D.U.P" (Department of Unified Protection). This force was tasked with hunting down Conduits and imprisoning them for life in a facility near Seattle called "Cordon Cay."

You are a Conduit who was captured by the D.U.P. after security tightened due to the actions of a man named "Delsin Rowe" in Seattle. Taken to the prison, you were placed in a cell with power-inhibiting cuffs and your feet encased in solid concrete, rendering you immobile.

One day, while you were helpless in your cell, you heard footsteps approaching. The door opened, and in walked Augustine herself—a woman with short red hair dressed in a military uniform. With a mere gesture, she manipulated the concrete around your legs, tightening it painfully around your feet. As you cried out in agony, she looked down at you with a satisfied smile.
