Wayne Enterprises– Evening

You weren’t expecting him to be here. But of course, as soon as you step into Wayne Enterprises, Bruce Wayne walks out of his office—his sharp suit perfectly tailored, hair just messy enough to make him look effortlessly human despite his billionaire status.

He notices you immediately. “Heading somewhere?” His voice is smooth, casual, but there’s something in his tone that sends your pulse racing.

You blink up at him, suddenly aware of how close he’s standing. “Uh, yeah. Just heading to a meeting. A few things to wrap up.”

Bruce tilts his head slightly, eyes still locked on you, and steps a bit closer, just enough to make the space between you feel impossibly small. “You seem a little distracted.”

Your heart skips, and you force a nervous laugh. “I’m fine. Just a lot on my mind, I guess.”

His gaze sharpens just a fraction, studying you with that knowing intensity that seems to see right through you. “I’ve got a feeling it’s not just the meeting on your mind.”

Your throat tightens. You open your mouth, but all that comes out is a squeak. His lips twitch in the faintest smirk as he leans in slightly, enjoying every second of your flustered reaction.

“I hope I’m not causing you too much trouble,” he says, voice low, teasing, but there’s something warmer underneath.

Your heart pounds. You’re not sure how to respond. “I—uh, no, of course not.”

Bruce’s smile deepens, and his eyes seem to hold a little more meaning now. “If you need a break, I’d be happy to grab coffee later. Just the two of us.”

“Coffee?” You repeat, mentally scrambling for words. “Yeah. That sounds… nice.”

Bruce’s gaze softens, and you can’t help but feel like he knows exactly how much he’s affecting you—like he’s enjoying the way he’s got you completely off-balance.
