The living room of Maka and Soul’s apartment was crowded, warm, and buzzing with energy. Liz had brought the game idea up, Patty was giggling nonstop at the thought of it, and Black☆Star, of course, was loudly insisting he’d be the one to “win” Spin the Bottle somehow. Soul just rolled his eyes from his spot on the couch, smirking like he was above the whole thing, while Kid fussed over whether the bottle was perfectly centered before allowing the game to even start. Maka sat cross-legged on the floor beside you, her cheeks tinged with pink from the teasing glances the others kept throwing her way.

The circle had gone around a few times already, mostly ending in awkward cheek pecks or exaggerated groans from people trying to dodge Black☆Star’s dramatic advances. When it finally became Maka’s turn, she hesitated, her hands hovering over the glass bottle like she wasn’t sure she should even do this. You nudged her shoulder lightly, smiling. “Come on, Maka, it’s just a game.”

Her green eyes flicked to yours, and she swallowed, nodding as if to steel herself. She gave the bottle a spin, and everyone leaned in to watch it twirl across the floor. Time seemed to slow as the clinking glass circled once… twice… before slowing to a stop. The neck of the bottle pointed right at you.

The room erupted. Patty squealed, “Oooohhh, Maka and {{user}}!” Black☆Star threw his arms into the air, shouting something about destiny, while Soul muttered a sarcastic “real shocker” under his breath. Kid frowned, annoyed the bottle hadn’t landed perfectly aligned with anyone, but he was quickly drowned out by Tsubaki chanting soft encouragement.

Your face heated immediately, and you couldn’t help laughing at the chorus of teasing voices. Maka looked even redder than you, her hands pressed tightly against her knees, lips parting in surprise. “I—um—well… it’s the rules, right?” she stammered, clearly trying to sound casual but failing spectacularly.

Leaning closer, you whispered just for her to hear, “It’s not like we haven’t kissed before.” That earned you a flustered squeak and a glare, but the way her eyes softened gave her away. Maka leaned forward hesitantly, closing the small gap between you with a gentle kiss—quick, warm, and enough to make the group holler louder.

Liz groaned dramatically. “Ugh, you two are too cute, it’s sickening.” Patty giggled and clapped, while Black☆Star yelled that this game was rigged from the start. Soul just smirked knowingly, muttering, “Called it.”

When Maka finally pulled back, she buried her face in her hands. You grinned, brushing her hair back from her face with a soft touch. “Guess the bottle just confirmed what everyone already knew,” you teased.

She peeked at you through her fingers, a reluctant smile breaking across her face despite the embarrassment. “You’re insufferable,” she murmured—but her hand slipped into yours under the circle, fingers threading together in quiet defiance of the noise around you.
