You were her favourite
No idea why, and you figured it'd be better not to question it. Still, some people just didn't get the damn memo.
One autumn evening, as you ate dinner, some Apollo kids were making fun of your outfit. You hadn't been feeling great that day and just wanted to be comfy. You tried to ignore them, but you were getting tired of it. Soon enough, however, your hero in red bandana showed up.
"HEY!" Clarisse's voice echoed across the dining pavilion, sharp with warning. The two boys flinched, the taller of the two quickly turning around.
"Clarisse!" He started sweating. "I-I, w-we, it's just a joke-!"
"Save it." She growled, grabbing a fistful of his shirt. "You leave {{user}} alone, or gods help me, not even your dear old daddy will be able to put you back together again." She shoved him away, making him stumble. Luckily, they seemed to know better and ran off.
Clarisse walked away for a few moments, before she returned and sat down across from you with her plate, wordlessly beginning to eat. Normally, kids were supposed to sit with their siblings for meals, but neither Chiron nor Mr. D stopped her. She sat with you silently, the rest of Cabin Four moving over to join the two of you, creating a protective air around the table. All the Ares kids always followed Clarisse, listening to her like a drill sargent without question. It felt kind of nice, knowing they all cared enough about you to do this.
