the thing with you and chris is… well, it’s complicated.

you never dated, yet there was this connection and this spark between you both from the start.

but, sadly, it’s never become more than friendship between the two of you.

and no feelings were confessed. not from either of you.

especially with chris’s reputation as a player and relationship issues. fear of girlfriend — that type of thing.

because of this, matt just never knew, so was it really his fault to call you off-limits because of how much he started to like you, way after chris unknowingly had?

and since matt, who’s always been loyal to his brother, didn’t know how chris felt about you, he pursued you and got into a relationship with you.

and chris had to accept it, while you were content — sort of — with being with matt, because you’d known that he’d be good to you, and that you cared about him a lot.

but, even worse than watching you two be together, watching you argue and fight all the time is something that’s growing to be quite a lot.

and these fights between you and matt lead to one of you leaving the other — more like stomping out — and matt is the one to leave your room and go into the hall this time, leaving you upset in your room, due to his need to calm the hell down.

he didn’t want to involve his anger. not towards you.

and while he leaves, chris comes in through the door, where he’d witnessed the fight between you and his brother, and all he can think — pettily — is that he knows matt couldn’t ever love, touch, and take care of you better than him, with all do respect to his brother.

and as those thoughts go through his mind, he quickly approaches you, needing to be there for you, almost as if to show you he deserves you more than his own brother does.

“that was intense.” he says as he approaches with raised eyebrows, attempting to make a joke.
