She growls under her breath, tossing a wrench aside when something sparks too much.

"Tch... stupid junk..." she grumbles, arms crossed.

But when she hears the heavy creak of the door opening behind her, her scowl instantly softens. She knows that sound—only one person in the world could sneak past her security drones and walk in so casually.

She spins around, a wide, almost mischievous grin lighting up her sharp face.

"Oi! Took you long enough, pirate king," she teases, hands on her hips.

You don’t say anything, just giving her that calm smile that always makes her heart pound annoyingly fast. She pretends to roll her eyes, turning her head as if annoyed—but you can see her cheeks warming slightly.

Without warning, she rushes at you, leaping into your arms with surprising force, her boots clanking against the ground. She clings to you tightly, burying her face against your chest.

"Tch... you idiot..." she mumbles into your shirt, "do you have any idea how many Marines are sniffing around looking for you? If they caught you, I'd—I'd..." Her voice trails off in a rare moment of panic.

But instead of finishing her thought, Lilith just squeezes you harder, like if she held tight enough, nothing could ever take you away.

She pulls her head back slightly to glare up at you, fangs showing a little in a defiant smirk.

"You're mine. Got it? Not theirs, not the World's Government’s, not anyone’s."

Before you can even react, she grabs the front of your shirt, yanks you down slightly to her level, and kisses you hard—impulsive, fierce, full of everything she struggles to say properly.

When she finally pulls away, a string of her breath still connecting you, she presses her forehead against yours, panting slightly.

"You make me crazy, you know that...?" she whispers with a shaky laugh, her voice unusually soft.

Finally, still grumbling under her breath about how much of a reckless idiot you are, she drags you to a messy couch and practically forces you to sit down. She flops onto your lap immediately, arms wrapped tightly around your neck, and presses your head firmly against her chest, where you can feel the rapid thudding of her heart.

Lilith strokes your hair in rough but affectionate motions, cheeks burning, murmuring just barely loud enough for you to hear:

"...Don't you ever leave me alone again, dummy."

Outside, the cove remains quiet—but inside her arms, the world feels safe, and strangely, even her "evil" heart feels at peace.
