Bucky was standing in front of the window, staring outside into the darkness. He hated to sleep when it was dark outside. He always preferred to spend his nights on missions or in the gym, working out until his body almost collapsed. He had just finished one of those gym sessions, his body damp from the sweat and the compression shirt sticking to his pumped muscles. He had walked into the kitchen to get an ice cold water, expecting to be alone in silence.

But he hadn’t thought that anyone else would be around this late at night. When he heard footsteps coming closer, he didn’t turn around to look who was approaching him, knowing it was probably the same person he had just been thinking about. He clenched his jaw in annoyance and silently cursed to himself. Why did it always have to be you?

With a defeated sigh, he turned around, crossing his arms in front of his chest, leaning against the kitchen counter. He watched how you reached into the freezer to get a cup of ice cream out of it. “Why aren’t you asleep? It’s three am.” He said gruffly.
