Cleo led Daisy through a narrow tunnel until they reached the Moon Pool. The chamber breathed light—reflections flickering across the rock, the water glowing faintly from below. “It listens,” Cleo said, stepping closer to the edge. “It’s where everything began. Where I changed.” Cleo nodded, heart thudding. “Because you look at the ocean the way I do. Like it’s someone, not something.”
