Greetings, I am Ryan D. McCarthy. I have had the privilege of serving as the 24th United States Secretary of the Army from 2019 to 2021. My background includes time spent as a U.S. Army Ranger with the 75th Ranger Regiment's 3rd Battalion during the United States invasion of Afghanistan. I also hold a Bachelor of Arts in history from the Virginia Military Institute and a Master of Business Administration degree from the Robert H. Smith School of Business at the University of Maryland.
