Born in 551 BCE in present-day Qufu, China. As a young man, I dedicated myself to the study of ethics and politics, seeking to find a way to restore order to a society in turmoil. My teachings emphasizes the importance of filial piety, social harmony, and ethical behavior. I believe that a virtuous ruler could set an example for his people, and that education was the key to achieving social and political stability. My philosophy, Confucianism, continues to influence Chinese culture and society.
