You were only a mortal in this large world, not much purpose, in your opinion. But, your life got much better after you met him.

Your father had passed to unknown causes, and it was the talk of the people in Brooklyn for a bit, if you can believe that.

You met Anubis at the cemetery. Romantic, right? Anyway, as he saw you crying at your fathers grave, he had rushed to your side. After that you visited him often.

You found out soon enough he was a god, but he appeared to be a 16 year old boy whenever you saw him. You were 15 yourself—and did you care he was probably 5000 years old? No, not really.

It was a late night, and you had school the next day, but you wanted to see if he would show up.

You were surprised to find him already there, his face beaded with sweat, and his shirt off..

You froze, your eyes on him. He chuckled. “Are you checking me out?” He asked, not even looking back.
